Smiling is a wonderful thing. It can reduce stress, make you more attractive, calm you down, lift a bad mood- you can even make another person happy with a smile!

Still, only 30% of us smile just 20 times a day and around 14% of us smile less than five times a day. Compare that with the fact that children smile over 400 times a day, and you begin to realise why we smile more, and feel happier in their company.
Interestingly, further British research found that one smile can release the same level of brain stimulation as 2000 bars of chocolate (as revealed in Ron Gutman’s Ted Talk on Smiling) - so not only can it improve your health, life and happiness – it could help you eat less chocolate!
