Dr Sanders will host the ADI Winchester Study Club - Restoring Implants- What's New?, presented by Steven Cambell on 02nd May 2017.
In dental technology we now have many more restorative options than have previously been available, but many surgeons and technicians are still not aware of how readily available or accessible this technology is. We will look at all of the clinical benefits of moving over to digital workflows, new materials and CAD/CAM restorations. We will also highlight the many systems and techniques, which can be adopted immediately without incurring any financial burden or disruption to our daily practice. We'll also look at some basic errors that can lead to CAD/CAM failures.
Educational Aims: To understand the benefits and potential pitfalls of using Digital workflows, new materials and CAD/CAM systems in our Surgery/Laboratory to provide superior implant restorations for our patients.
Educational Objectives: To look at the Digital solutions, new materials and CAD/CAM systems available in the marketplace today, along with many of the new developments which will be widely available in the near future. To understand how we can safely use these systems today to improve the quality of the restorations we deliver to our patients.

Steve is a registered dental technician with over 23 years experience. After serving his apprenticeship, he went on to manage, and eventually become a partner and Managing Director at his previous lab whilst remaining an active technician at the bench, investing his time and energy into developing the team.
Steve is passionate about introducing the latest technologies and CAD/CAM solutions, particularly within the field of implant restorations where he is involved in many development programmes. Steve presents on behalf of various companies and associations on the solutions that CAD/CAM and digital workflows allow both the technical and surgical team to deliver better and more consistent results on behalf of their patients.
Although an advocate of adopting technology to benefit the patient, Steve is a firm believer in the high quality, consistency and peace of mind offered to the public through the UK system of a registered and highly skilled dental team. Steve is keen to emphasize the point that CAD/CAM is simply a tool, the really important factor is always the team members skill in using them.
Because of this, Steve has been fortunate enough to serve on many organisations that seek to provide their members with the latest information and support to ensure we maintain the high standards that the patients expect from Great British Dentistry.
Steve is the Managing Director of Nexus Dental Laboratory, Director of Finance at the Dental Laboratories Association, Technical Representative for the Association of Dental Implantology and council member of the British Institute of Dental and Surgical Technologists.
“The technician / implantology interface is at its most exciting. Who better to sieve through the good the bad and the ugly than Steve -who I saw present in Italy in March. Steve is at the cutting edge of innovation and excellence. This is one not to miss!”-
Dr Peter Sanders.
